Hello, readers! My name is Scott Weatherman, and I’m excited to share my story with you today. You may be wondering who I am, so let me give you a little background.

I was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma in 1983, and grew up in Henryetta, Oklahoma, where I still call home. Growing up in Henryetta was a unique experience, as it was a small and somewhat impoverished community. However, despite our circumstances, the people in our town were always supportive and had each other’s backs. I had a great high school experience and formed many close friendships. My classmates were all very different from one another, but we got along exceptionally well, which is something I now realize is rare.

Despite loving my hometown, I always knew that I wanted to explore the world beyond it. I dreamed of going to Los Angeles and becoming a rock star or actor. While I didn’t make it to California right away, I did end up attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I pursued a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and was very active on campus. I was involved in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, where I held the positions of Social Chair and Education Chair. I also participated in the Redman Ambassadors, a group that led tours of the campus for prospective students.

During my time at NSU, I was a volunteer and director of the Rookie Bridge Camp, an event that helped incoming freshman students get associated with the campus and connected with other students. Additionally, in 2005, I was elected Homecoming King of the university, which was a huge honor for me. My Homecoming Queen was Muriel Saunders, who was 71 years old and the oldest known Homecoming Queen at the time.

After graduating from NSU at the end of 2006, instead of pursuing a job in my field, I ventured into a trade labor called Non-Destructive Testing, which is also known as Pipelining. Two weeks after graduation, I hopped on a plane to Aspen, Colorado, which was a new and exciting adventure for me.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for my experiences growing up and in college. They shaped me into the person I am today and taught me many valuable lessons about myself and the world around me. I’ve always been somewhat of a faux extrovert, comfortable in social settings but often preferring solitude. Despite this, I’ve always been up for adventure, and many of my experiences have been solo trips.

I hope my story inspires you to pursue your passions and take risks, no matter how daunting they may seem. Thank you for taking the time to read about my life, and I hope to connect with you soon!
